THECAKELADY
Nice to meet you! I'm YeJee Hoffman, aka The Cake Lady.
I have always loved art, but my affinity for making and decorating cakes was sparked when one of my babysitters was learning how to create cakes for a 4H project. From there, I fell in love! I grew up in Windsor, Colorado and attended The Art Institute in Denver for Graphic Design. Magically enough, my academic pursuit has actually come in quite handy when it comes to understanding the artistic and layout piece of cake design.
After years of making cakes as a hobby and giving them to family and friends, I've launched my business and am rapidly expanding the operation. My craft has been honed over several years of trial and error.and yes, there were definitely some not-so-groovy cakes in the beginning! I quickly learned three main rules when it comes to cakes:
1. Never take shortcuts
2. Its all about the support and structure when it comes to development of an amazing cake, and
3. Prepare with the idea of anything can happen and always be armed with extra frosting!
I'm happy to say that with these three key ingredients, my cakes are not just pretty, they're delicious and they truly set the mood and theme of an event. One of my favorite things about my business is that I look forward to a customer saying, "Thats PERFECT!" when they see me translate their ideas and theme into a sketch of what will soon be their perfect, custom cake.
The Cake Lady's "2nd Half" is my husband, Shawn. He's the behind-the-scenes guy, the technical and logistics expert, and the voice of reason when it comes to anchoring me in reality! I dream up all kinds of designs, specialize in taking what my clients say and then transforming that into a tangible, stunning, and edible masterpiece.
My cakes are about celebration and honoring those moments in life that leave you with sweet memories and remembering that amazing cake!

"TheCakeLady cupcakes made for the CD release of my clients, Fierce Bad Rabbit, and their album, "The Maestro and the Elephant," were AMAZING. Every detail, down to a hand-painted piece of fondant that featured the brilliant cover art of the album was executed flawlessly. Assorted cupcakes, all in the album's colors of dark reds and aqua were crafted and everything looked incredible in the display. Everyone raved about the look and taste of the treats all night! You made a band very, very happy!"

“The Cake Lady made the most AMAZING graduation cake for my step-son that I have ever seen!!!!! He graduated from Fossil Ridge High School so I wanted something masculine that fit his personality. She did the icing in white fondant with the Fossil Ridge logo in black fondant and green, silver and black fondant polka dot designs on the rest. She also had his name and year of graduation. It was truly beyond my expectations!!! I would TOTALLY recommend her! P.S. IT WAS DELICIOUS, TOO!”

“Hi, I am just writing to thank you for the two BEAUTIFUL cakes you made for my kids' birthdays this year. All I had was a general idea of what to make for them, and you ran with it!Eva's cake was very gorgeous and sparkly, fit for a princess. Gunner's was all about horses, you even made his name out of carrots. How cute is that? More than how beautiful they were, they were absolutely delicious. The fondant tasted just like buttercream frosting, and everyone was so surprised that you could actually eat it”
